Before senior training I have managed to catch up with former 1st XV captain and 1/4 of the famous Evans brothers: Joe Evans.
1. How old were you when you started playing rugby?Started playing at 5
2. What was your first rugby memory?First rugby memory is walking over from the football ground to play and the green room after
3. Who was your role model and why?Jonny Wilkinson
4. Can you remember your first training session with Billingham? Can’t remember my first session but remember getting changed at the ground in the boot of the car and been made a hot dog off a camping stove
5. What do you eat before a big match? Normally porridge early doors then not much after that apart from sweets and a coffee
6. Describe your perfect weekend. Quiet Friday with family, big Saturday win and a few beers then go out on Sunday with the family.
7. What’s been your career highlight? Being 1st team captain and going through all the promotions.
8. What one tip would you give a young person looking to succeed . Skill will only get you so far!! Hard work and been willing to put your body on the line for the team is a must.
9. What’s the next goal in your rugby career? Helping the club progress through playing or helping peter coach and hopefully one day coaching my kids
