This Saturday a Billingham Development Squad return to action against Yorkshire outfit, Pocklington.
With many numbers away this weekend with Leeds Festival, Bank Holiday, 7s tournament all happening numbers will be tight so Peter will likely travel with a smaller squad than he would of liked.
Pre Season has gone well so far and with increased numbers, new additions things are looking promising for the start of the season.
Pocklington away... Going to Pock is going into the unknown really however they are no strangers to National Rugby. It wasn't long ago that they were in the North Premier. 2018 was to be the last season in the league. Unfortunately Pock succumbed to relegation.
Billingham had two good result home and away with the latter being a 10-53 win. One thing with Pock and any Yorkshire team, dont read too much into past results.
With a development squad in place it will likely be a tough test. As with any Yorkshire outfit, Pock will be fit, physical and big. A grass pitch will help the lads become accustomed to softer ground.
Looking ahead to 2 weeks time we are back in league action. Wirral at home. A very tough test.
It will be interesting to see how the league plans out for 2021/22 with many clubs impacted financially. Will some of the bigger clubs be able to able maintain their players (those that pay)... It will be an interesting season ahead im sure.
Details of kick off timers for Saturday will be posted shortly. Look forward to seeing you down their if travelling. Drive safe. If not travelling, we have another development team at home playing vs Sunderland. Another tough fixture heading into the season.
