We welcomed Middlesborough to Greenwood Road last Sunday. We then started the game without our 10 Lewin Tubuna as he had completed the coast to coast bike ride (115 miles in under 12 hours). An amazing achievement we are all proud of!

Billingham started off strong and from our own kick we regathered and threatened the Middlesborough line with our speed. Middlesbrough managed to hold off and got a few counter attacks but our defence held strong and they couldn't break our line.
Eventually Joe Syson steals the ball from Middlesbroughs break down and the ball was shipped wide to Freddie Gardner who scored in the corner. After that Billingham dominated the next 15 minutes scoring several tries through Eben Robinson, Charlie Evans and Joe Syson (2) and Freddie Gardner (2). Middlesbrough hit back at Billingham with a couple tries of their own before half time with well taken tries from their number 3. After the first half ended we had a team talk and got our heads back in the game. We then dominated the second half scoring several more tries through will Cooper, Adey Barnes and Freddie Gardner (2). The tries showed some great teamwork from the whole squad.

Thanks to Middlesborough for an excellent game of rugby played in a great spirit! Man of the match trophies after the game went to all of the forwards for some excellent scrummaging and ruck work.

For the backs man of the match Eben Robinson who filled in at 10 did a great job with his handling and vision even getting himself on the score sheet. And the man of the match from the opposition manager was Freddie Gardener for his pace and tries on the outside. All round great game, well done to all the lads we go again next week at Darlington Mowden Park.
