Billingham Jets attended the home ground of Ryton, we started by going through tactics and game play.

Lewin Tubuna started the game with a kick and Billingham chasing it down. Ryton made the first big tackle and Billingham defended the first phase well turning over the ball which led to the first of many tries in the game.

This instantly gave Billingham the upper hand and the urge to score more.

From the first score Billingham dominated the contact area sending Ryton players backwards with their physicality. With ball in hand we were devastating using the offload and movement from our backs to rack up a number of tries.

Second half Billingham came out slow we were caught off guard and Ryton managed to score from a missed tackle. This made Billingham up their levels and Despite strong running from Ryton forwards they came up against a green and white wall time and again.

This try also provoked Billingham to be more dominant in runs/tackles and rucking.

They used their handling and wide play to their advantage leading to several more tries. We have to thank the opposition for an excellent game of rugby played in a great spirit. Ryton played with a never say die attitude and worked hard all game but just had no answer to the slick handling of the Billingham players.
