Match report
It was a later kick off today as Percy park welcomed us to their ground.

We had a good discussion just before kick off about what we had been practicing in training on Thursday night.

Before we knew it, it was time to kick off and we received a high ball from an amazing kick from their fly half. With our full back Jackson Bell taking it into contact. After a few good phases from Billingham and good pressure from the home side they forced a knock on. A solid scrum from Percy park saw them keep the ball off the scrum. After a few phases went by, and with some great line speed from Billingham there was a poor pass from Percy Park’s tight head prop as he was about to be tackled. This made it an easy read for Riley Ward to intercept the ball and score the first try of the game.

It was a back and forth first half with some amazing rugby from both sides but Billingham lead at half time 20-15.

At half time we got told to go back out and do what we did in the first half.

We kicked off the second half with some strong tackles forcing them to kick the ball down field but with our winger Freddie Gardner getting the ball and doing a thing of individual brilliance running through the team to score in the corner. Freddie repeated this again. Percy park regathered themselves and came back with a few of their own making it 35 -30 with 2 minutes left to play. Billingham kicked it long applying the pressure forcing a penalty 15 meters out.

With reduced numbers and no substitutions, fatigue was setting in with all the players forcing us to make some errors.

All in all we had great team performance against a very competitive Percy Park.

We go again next week against Horden at home #OSIOS

Man of the Match: congratulations to Freddie Gardener and Joe Syson.

Try scores: Riley Ward, Adey Barnes, Freddie Gardner x 3, Joe Syson
